Roger Stone Suspended from Twitter After Attacking CNN Anchors

Stone could face a permanent suspension from Twitter based on the the social media platform's guidelines.

While Stone has never been a model of decorum on Twitter, his level of vitriol Friday, coupled with the direct, personal nature of his attacks on Lemon, prompted multiple users-including Lemon's CNN colleague Keith Boykin-to wonder Friday whether Twitter might crack down. Responding to reports that his account was banned for good, Stone also said that he was told by Twitter that his suspension was supposed to last "three hours and 22 minutes", but the account has been dark all night and at time of publication, is still suspended.

Twitter declined to comment specifically on Stone's account, instead highlighting the company's policy on abusive behavior.

"I wonder if these angry, racist Roger Stone tweets violate the @Twitter terms of service agreement", Boykin wrote.

Stone, who helped Trump win the election, told Politico on Sunday he had chose to bring legal action against Twitter, although it was unclear what that action would be. Mr. Stone told The Wrap he would sue Twitter.

"I have been inundated on Twitter with bloggers threatening to kill me, my wife my kids and even my dogs yet Twitter seems unconcerned about that", he said "This is just part and parcel of the tech lefts effort to silence conservative voices".

Stone has no government job and doesn't work for the President in any official capacity. Stone was briefly an adviser to the Trump campaign, and has been personally tied to activities that come under Mueller's purview, including the hack of the Democratic National Committee. Stone helped Trump's campaign throughout 2016. One is affiliated with his blog Stone Cold Truth, and another is related to the Netflix documentary about him.
