Nintendo Releases 'Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp' for iOS

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will land on the iPhone and Android on Wednesday the 22nd of November.

Be warned: although the game is live on the App Store and Google Play, some players are reporting its servers as being unstable right now, with with occasional connection errors. The last main series installment was Animal Crossing: New Leaf in 2012, which received the sizable Welcome amiibo update this time a year ago.

The new Animal Crossing mobile phone game was previously scheduled to make its debut tomorrow, but it has arrived a day early across mobile platforms.

The other smartphone apps Nintendo have released are Miitomo and the Nintendo Switch Online app. You play as the manager of a campground, building your campsite and interacting with animals you meet.

The game will also include seasonal events, Nintendo says.

Tatsumi Kimishima, the new CEO since 2015, has managed to successfully maintain Nintendo on top of the mobile games market with the likes of Pokémon Go, Super Mario Run and fire Emblem Heroes.

Bells are used to purchase and craft furniture, upgrade your camper van, and buy new outfits, while Leaf Tickets can buy special furniture and items, as well as upgrade things like your inventory space. As you play, you collect items and complete tasks for the animals you meet.

"You can also customize your camper, visit your friends' campsites to get ideas for your own, and meet new animal friends as you explore recreational areas!" You can purchase Leaf Tickets with real money, or earn them through regular gameplay. Those who want to interact with their friends can spend time at the campsite and build a relationship with them.
