Real Madrid have to fight hard before being able to pick a 2-1 victory from hosts Alaves in the sixth week of La Liga competition at Estadio Mendizorrotza on Saturday (23/09/2017) afternoon local time.

Ceballos was reported to have been frustrated, after Zidane left him on the bench, as Madrid were beaten 1-0 at his former club, Real Betis, on Wednesday night.

Clinical finishing from Angel Correa and Yannick Carrasco in the second half gave Atletico Madrid a 2-1 win away to Athletic Club Bilbao, who saw a first half penalty from Aritz Aduriz saved by Jan Oblak and who pulled a late consolation goal back from Raul Garcia.

As expected, it was the visitors that dominated the ball in the early stages, but Alaves were a threat in the final third, with Munir's movement in the final third causing Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane problems at the heart of the Real Madrid defence.

With Toni Kroos injured, Ceballos took the place of regular starter Luka Modric, who Zidane rested ahead of the trip to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Sergio Ramos almost doubled the visitors' lead after Cristiano Ronaldo cleverly chipped a free kick into the box, but the unmarked defender had his header saved.

The first of Ceballos' goals came in the 10th minute after a brilliant cut back on the edge of the box from Marco Asensio.

Real Madrid's number seven looked certain to be sending the away side 3-1 ahead in the 63rd minute after curling a handsome effort towards the far corner, but the post saved Alaves as the 32-year-old was denied once again. However, Ceballos scored minutes later to restore Madrid's lead after a gift from Pacheco.

Manuel Garcia's 40th-minute goal temporarily drew Alaves level. Alaves, meanwhile, are next in La Liga action away to Levante next weekend.
