One person is now a multi-millionaire after winning Friday night's Mega Millions jackpot. According to ABC News, the winning ticket was purchased at Nick's Barbecue in Palos Heights. The Washington ticket is worth $5 million because the victor chose to spend an extra dollar for the optional Megaplier, which was 5x, lottery offiicials said. These winners were reported to be from Washington, California, and Ohio.

If you didn't strike gold in Friday's drawing, there's a whopping $356 million jackpot up for grabs during Saturday night's Powerball drawing.

Jackpot winners choose whether to receive 30 annual payments, each 5 percent higher than the last, or a lump-sum payment. In that drawing, David Trapp won $61 million in California.

"You see more people in line buying both tickets when both games are over $300 million", said Jeff Lenard, spokesman for the National Association of Convenience Stores, whose members sell about two-thirds of the nation's lottery tickets. In its history, 11 Mega Million jackpots have been won in August.
