The NBA announced the decision Saturday, saying Oubre had been disciplined for "charging and making forceful and unwarranted contact".
KU senior guard Frank Mason - who was a sophomore during the 2014-15 season, Oubre's only campaign at KU - also saw Oubre's heated reactions a time or two with the Jayhawks.
"I've been hit in the head multiple times by the same person", Oubre said last week. "The league has to do what they have to do".
"They were hard screens and the offensive foul was proper [amount of discipline] in this situation".
So now Oubre will watch Sunday's game from the sidelines, and will be the first player suspended for a game during this postseason. Olynyk had set an illegal screen on Oubre that knocked him to the ground.
"Probably not", Thomas said when asked if he'd ever played in a more meaningful game. But he said Olynyk takes it to another level.More news: Le Pen's father says her stance on euro, Europe undermined her
"We can't respond that way", Brooks said.
"We know that we have the ability to win there", said Wall. But not having him, it's not ideal, but it is what it is.
When it came down to it, if you have been watching Wall this season you expected to see a game like this in the playoffs eventually. "You can't worry about who's not playing". Or he could plug another player into the rotation like Jason Smith. "Those are all on the table right now".
I don't believe the Wizards or Celtics are good enough defensively to be scary but Washington might outscore them once or twice.
John Wall led the Wizards with 24 points, ably assisted by Otto Porter Jr. and Bojan Bogdanovic - who both added 19 points. John Wall and Jae Crowder got into it after a January game in Boston which very almost led to a brawl. He's a little older than most of my music I listen to, but I like him.
"Blow them the [expletive] out", Morris said. "Like, those kill you", Isaiah Thomas said.More news: Kings XI Punjab win keeps play-off chase alive
Thomas has a four-piece temporary bridge that cracked when he was re-injured and replaced at halftime of Game 3. But, after looking at them, he decided that wasn't necessary.
"We've got to play hard". Since he arrived in a trade from Phoenix past year, some of that has rubbed off on teammates, like mild-mannered Oubre. There's no love lost between the Wizards and Celtics, and the Oubre-Olynyk incident was the height of the physicality Thursday.
Following back-to-back comeback wins by the East's top seed in the first two games in Boston, Washington returned the favor with a pair of dominant wins on its home court. "We're still down one, still down in the series".
It takes one to know one if you're Draymond Green.
Insane is just how the Wizards like it.
That Garden crowd will be ready on Wednesday, and those Boston Celtics will have a new focus and yes, they'll have energy. "It was a non-basketball play, it was a very unsafe play, and you can't retaliate in that type of manner". Green then insinuated that the key to slowing a guy like Bogdanovic down is to never let him get going in the first place.
