Kellyanne Conway says James Comey's own actions led to his firing

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and CNN's "New Day" co-anchor Chris Cuomo sparred Wednesday over the motivation behind President Donald Trump's decision to fire FBI Director Jim Comey. In an interview with Fox and Friends on Thursday, Conway claimed the eye roll was sexist.

"Could you imagine rolling your eyes, having a male anchor on the network roll eyes, at Hillary Clinton... at a female representative, spokeswoman..."

After a weekslong absence from the cable-news circuit, Conway appeared on CNN late Tuesday, sparring with host Anderson Cooper over why Comey was sacked in the midst of the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election. He wondered why the administration anxious over Comey's handling of an investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email server when they praised him for it on the campaign trail. "You're conflating two things that don't belong together", she said.

Conway, as she's wont to do, deflected by thanking Cooper for the "trip down memory lane". I said, "thanks for the trip down memory lane" and talked about winning MI and then he rolled his eyes. The internet responded with applause, but Conway herself was not a fan.

What Kellyanne fails to comprehend is that Anderson Cooper didn't roll his eyes because she was a woman.

The "wrong set of facts" remark is reminiscent of one of Conway's most famous lines, when she insisted in January that disagreements over the crowd size between the administration and reports at President Trump's inauguration were due to "alternative facts".

"Let me tell you something".

"I denounce whoever it is".

Democrats who are complaining about Comey's firing are showing their hypocrisy, she continued, and people should look at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's previous statements about Comey, when he called the former director's credibility into question. Critics immediately slammed Conway for her disrespect, but she said she was just trying to capture a photo from a certain angle.

"It does make sense, Anderson, I get that's a new talking point-" Conway said.

He rolled his eyes during Conway's 13-minute-long interview after she made multiple assertions that he felt didn't add up to explain the firing of Comey.
