Bucking the national trend of a marginal decrease in pass percentage, the overall pass percentage of CBSE Plus Two students in Madurai district went up from 97.42 % in 2016 to 99.08 % in 2017 as per results announced on Sunday. The reason for this as stated was that there was a big increase in the number of students scoring 95% and above in CBSE's Class XII exams.

A total of 2,497 candidates with various disabilities also sat for the exams this year, of which 2,123 students passed.
