This mode is a six on six multiplayer game variant which focuses exclusively on pilots. Players can play the game in Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One. As with all post-release content for Titanfall 2, Live Fire will be a free update for everyone that owns the game. These maps are created to perfectly fit the gameplay for "Live Fire".

The free update will introduce a brand-new mode called Live Fire: a lightning fast 6v6 Pilot only mode that brings competitive, close quarter combat to the forefront. On top of this, there will also be a bunch of content available with the newest update, although the majority of the DLC focuses exclusively on the Pilots this time around. The mode will feature a round-based best-of-5 format with no respawns, and teams will have one minute to eliminate all members of the other squad. A neutral flag has also been added to allow the team that holds it to win a round. These two new maps are meant to make the best out of close-quarter battles and will ultimately bring what the gamers have yearned for in the game. Respawn describes them as "tight, enclosed death boxes designed specifically for the fast-paced, intense nature of the mode". This will also include "multiple new Commander intros for each faction".

So while sales for Titanfall 2 were initially disappointing, developer Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts have likely taken notice of just how positive the discussion surrounding the game is amongst those who have actually purchased it. Months post-launch, Respawn Entertainment has now laid plans to provide more support for its first-person shooter to keep the fan's interest going with the arrival of DLC 2. The players said that splitting game modes between two screens is not ideal.
